Flower Workshops

Last week I spent a fabulous evening teaching 4 lovely ladies how to create a beautiful seasonal handtied bouquet. This night of flower arranging we organised as "January is a month where nothing happens, so we wanted something to look forward to!"

The workshop was held at one of the ladies house and I provided all the materials and flowers needed to create the designs.

I chose a selection of beautiful seasonal flowers in pinks, purples and Ivory.  These included rich purple anemones, pink tulips and wax flower and delicate Ivory astrantia along with a selection of other seasonal flowers and foliages. As this workshop was held on a very dull cold January evening I wanted to bring spring into the home with a splash of colour.

The workshop started with a demonstration on how to create a beautiful bouquet with spiralled stems and a lesson on how to prolong the life of their flowers. The ladies then had a go themselves and each created a stunning bouquet. We then wrapped the bouquets in rustic brown paper and learnt how to Aqua pack the bouquet so it could be presented in a box for easy transportation.

If you have a group of friends (minimum of 4 people per workshop) who would like to have a go at creating a handtied bouquet please drop me an email and we can discuss plans for your own Handtied Bouquet workshop, sleastwood@hotmail.co.uk.

Alternatively why not come along to my Handtied Bouquet in a Jug workshop which is being held at 19 Alexandra Road, Clevedon on Saturday 23rd May. For more information please see www.19alexandraroad.co.uk.
